About the artist
Elizabeth Kirkor Rogers
Elizabeth Kirkor Rogers is a self-taught watercolor artist with a rich cultural background. Born in Poland and educated in Britain, she became an American citizen and has called New York City and its suburbs home since 1963.
The vibrancy of the city’s street life — its people, pets, and everyday scenes — has always inspired her, along with the iconic architecture that forms the backdrop for those urban moments.
Her work has been embraced by Bloomingdale’s, The Plaza Hotel, Hotel Wales, the New York Stock Exchange, the Circle Line, and the Athenaeum Hotel in Chautauqua, who have used her paintings for postcards and promotional materials. Some of her originals were sold at the United Nations to benefit UNESCO.
Now retired, Elizabeth continues to be admired for her unique artistic vision that captures the essence of city life.
